"The Invaders: Saucer Model Shot"

Here is a shot of the finished Monogram Invaders UFO saucer kit.

The kit is a 1995 re-issue of the original Aurora model of the late 1960's. The saucer is about 6 and 1/2 inches diameter, and has a lift-off roof to allow view of the interior. The landing legs can be placed up for flight), or down (landing position).

The kit comes molded in dark gray plastic, with a few red transparent plastic parts.

These kits still appear for auction on Ebay from time to time.

Here is a shot of the belly of the craft.

The 5 leg pods were originally molded in red clear plastic. In the series they are actually blue. (They have been re-painted for accuracy.) The main drive grid is red. The saucer is finished in Testor's silver enamel.

Here is the Monogram saucer with the roof removed.

To the left, you have 2 Invaders in their acceleration tubes.

On the right, the seated pilot faces the main control panel.

(On the actual series, controls, and interior set-ups varied from episode to episode.)

Here is another interior shot of the Monogram Invaders saucer.

To the left, we have two Invaders in their acceleration tubes, (the third tube is unoccupied.)

At the top, an Invader tends his instruments.

To the right, the seated pilot faces the main control panel.
